Meet YOUR hosts

  • MARK WALLENGERN

    In 1985, after years in the radio biz, I was hired as a morning show host on a very, very popular Los Angeles radio station. KOST 103.5. I was teamed with a woman and we became the first equally billed, equally paid male/female morning radio show in the United States. I can proudly say today that you can't go to a city in the U.S., let alone the world, without hearing a version of the Mark & Kim Show. On our 20th anniversary we were honored to be acknowledged with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame right in front of Disney's El Capitan Theater. It has been a real pleasure and joy interviewing some of the most famous people on the planet and sharing behind the scenes stories and facts about the music I played on the radio for more than 35 years.

    I'm a LCSW therapist and been practicing for almost 15 years. I recently left my full time job to be more of a stay at home mom. For the last 4 years I've taught DBT skills to people in treatment for behavioral health disorders. When you teach a group one of the requirements to is that you have to be practicing the DBT skills yourself. After teaching for a few years I remember my husband asking, “You know, you know all these skills. Why aren’t you practicing them yourself?” (I think every husband says that to their therapist wife. ) So, I started using the skills. When I taught a DBT skill, then I'd use it during the week. And it was like, holy crap, this stuff actually works, it really helps. I have a strong belief in DBT — it really has changed my life.
